It’s better to be a blessing.
The VBGuild members are wonderful, giving, people who gladly share, even if only a few cents, to one another. After reading a post they may feel inspired to let that writer know what a great job they have done by tipping. I do not know about you, but it does feel good to know your work is appreciated. It also is quite joyful to realize your tips may find their way into the hands of a giver!
I know one writer who has used her tips for buying books of her fellow published writers, thus sharing their books with friends, family, and other writers. What a wonderful way to use ones proceeds by giving back!
It actually is a two-fold job!
The tipping concept encourages us to continue to write. We may also use the tips as a gift in spreading others work.
The old saying goes like this, "You cannot out-give a true giver!"
For the more we give, the more we get back in so many glorious ways.
The guild's community gives writers a nice pat on the back for the time spent in sharing our thoughts, dreams, and stories. It truly is not about money as much as it is about encouraging writers to keep doing what they are doing! I have received tips and I could not help but feel appreciated for the work I put into my blog post. I was so excited to be able to tip my fellow writers as well. For others, this is their method of income to earn a living at what they love to do.
If you think about it, writers offer a service. This service may provide entertainment but often has the potential to help others in many ways. For some it may bring encouragement, advice, or tips concerning a situation. Whatever gem we may find among the many blog posts we read, we are sure to find something that moves us.
I truly have found joy in giving tips to writers, who have the option available on their websites. I understand the amount of time that goes into a well-written blog post. Most people still have jobs and families, but among their busy schedules, many pearls of wisdom are being shared across the pages of their blogs.
The bottom line is tipping is a nice way of saying THANK YOU!
Thank you for taking the time to share your wisdom and knowledge.
Thank you for sharing your gifts, talents, and heart.
Thank you for your time and energy.
Thank you for using the tips to encourage others.
Thank you most of all for being you, as in all the world there is no other you!
Upon a Tree
One day a sad, but rich ruler was riding through the forest and saw the writing on the trees. He was so intrigued! The words seem to make his heart feel happy. He found answers to some of his problems that plagued the kingdom. The words brought such comfort to his heart, that he made it his mission to find the author. This was not an easy task. Many days the rich, ruler would ride through the forest and attempt to find this author, but to no avail.
You see, the young boy only came out at night and used the moon's light to guide his hand to write upon the trees. The rich ruler only searched for the author during the day, so it was that they missed each other day after day.
One day the sad, rich ruler had an idea. I shall leave the author a gift, a box, filled with pencils, pen and white, crisp paper. The sad, rich ruler placed his gift under a tree in hopes the gifted young author would find it and write more words of wisdom.
One night the young boy was preparing to write by the light of the moon upon a tree when he happened to see a box sitting under a tree near by. He ran with anticipation to the closed box. He opened it to find fresh pages of white, pencils and pen. He was so overjoyed, that he thought it had fallen from heaven.
"I shall write down all my thoughts and dreams! May they make it back to the one who has so graciously given me these wonderful tools to write with."
He began to write upon the pages as the inspirations poured from his soul. The over joyed peasant boy left his work in the box, hoping the one who had given him such a gift would read his work.
It was so.
The rich ruler found the box and it was filled with many inspirations from the young, peasant boy.
The relationship between the giving, sad, rich, ruler and the happy, peasant boy grew. Each time the peasant boy opened the box there was more fresh, white, paper, new sharpened pencils, and a fancy pen. He knew that his work was being read. Even though he did not ever know the giver of such a gift, he felt a stirring in his heart to continue writing.
The sad, rich, ruler was no longer sad, but found joy in reading the young peasant boy's work. It made him one of the most influential Kings of all the land. People were amazed, as the King would quote many of the young boy's sayings. The cycle of positive vibes spread across the land.
To think it all started with a gift!
