One of the greatest challenges we face as the human race is loving one another at all times. When all is going well and we feel loved then it does not seem to be such a hard task. The times when we are treated unfairly, or feeling unloved by others, suddenly...the love that we used to have seems to slip away.
If we as Christians truly have God in us, I want to assure you that the love is still there. It might be covered up by all the earthly things, that draw us away for a time . Like a heavy blanket the world and our own fleshy yearnings begin to suffocate the love of Christ in us. We begin to be deceived by ungodly thoughts of despair.

We concern our selves in others battles but not in prayer about a situation. Our mouths speak unjustly about our fellow brothers or loved ones. A deep divide begins to happen causing many symptoms such as depression, anxiety, and even division. We begin to pull away from others and our minds are a playground for dark thoughts that are NOT of God. Our minds become a breeding ground for hate.
As Christians we are NOT exempt from falling into these traps. We are no different than the world when we begin to make our decent. We do however have a recipe for healing and restoration if we heed the words of our Lord. If we are grounded in the love of Christ, love cannot help but overflow to others.
The day we asked Christ to live within our hearts, there was a root of love planted. Maybe we have not known how to make it grow. Perhaps love has been a four letter word due to a hurtful past. I can assure you that root of love is waiting to be cultivated so it can spring forth. It can bloom in the most unlikely places and in the midst of turmoil and devastation.

I could not sleep last night and the Lord pressed upon my heart these verses to share.
Some people are hard to love no doubt and sometimes we are not the most lovable.
One sure sign that we have God in our hearts is by our love towards one another.
Cain slaughtered his brother because the love of God was not in him. He was filled with evil and his brother Abel was righteous. There was a great division...Perhaps Abel did not even understand completely why the great divide existed but it was there even back then. Perhaps Cain was filled with everything but God.
Whoever does not love their brother remains in death, and the love of God is not in them.
John 3:15 "Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer and you know that no murderer has eternal life remaining in him"
So actually without the love of God...we are walking around dead, and without a spiritual life. We have the world enticing us, filling us with all kinds of things, but after a time, we are empty once more.
Gods commandment is this..
John 3:23
"We should believe in the name of name of his Son Jesus Christ , and love one another just as he commanded us."
God did not ask us to love one another...he has commanded us to do so...He loves us so much that he does not want us to walk around like a dead man, without living a true authentic life in him.
John 3:24
"If we do this and keep his commandments...remain in him and he in them and the way we know that he remains in us is from the spirit he gave us"
His Holy Spirit living in us...so that we are able to love one another as he commanded.
If you do not have the Lord in your heart...all you have to do is ask...He is always waiting for us to come to him. He is unconditional love.
How beautiful is that?

Lastly there is one other thing we can do. If we feel we are drowning in despair and the thought of love taste like a bad pill, or we are just not feeling it, we can get it back! We must focus on the beautiful things in life and spend time in prayer... asking God to saturate our heart and mind with him.
Philippians 4:8
"What is true, what is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things."
When life feels hopeless and we feel we can not love one more person, please remember Christ died on the cross for all of us. That means even the ones who are unlovable and are standing on the other side of the great divide. We must take up the Cross and become Christlike, loving them as Christ did us when we were Not so lovable.
